Paestum: Archeologist Guided Small-Group Tour

Overview

Explore the ruins of Paestum, home to three magnificent Doric temples, an amphitheater, forum and marketplace. After the ruins, visit the National Archaeological Museum, which houses some of Greece’s finest Magna art. Paestum, located in the northern Cilento region on the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea near the Sele River, is one of Italy’s most precious archaeological treasures. This settlement named Posidonia was founded by Greek immigrants and became the most popular city in Magna Graecia.

A trained archaeologist guide will take you on a 2-hour walking tour of Paestum, the best-preserved Greco-Roman city. Admire three Greek temples dating back to the 6th century BC: the Temple of Neptune, the Temple of Ceres, and a cathedral that rivals the Parthenon in Athens.
