Full Description

Discover the highlights of southwest Iceland on an 8-hour Golden Circle tour from Reykjavik. See the dramatic geothermal landscapes of the Geysir area, the powerful cascades of Gullfoss Waterfall, and the rift valley of Þingvellir National Park, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet.

Begin your adventure in the Geysir geothermal area, watching the active hot spring Strokkur erupt water up to 30 meters into the air every few minutes. Continue to the iconic Gullfoss Waterfall (“Golden Falls”), where the glacial Hvítá River plunges into a 32-meter deep canyon, creating a spectacular display of nature’s power.

Next, explore Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk through the rift valley formed by the diverging tectonic plates and learn about its historic significance as the site of Iceland’s first Viking parliament at the Rock of Law.

On the return journey, pass by the striking volcanic crater Lake Kerið and enjoy scenic views of Icelandic farmland along the Golden Circle route before arriving back in Reykjavik.
(*Please note: afternoon departures at 12:00 pm or later do not include a stop at Kerið Crater.)
