Full Description
The Škocjan Caves, formed by the Reka River dissolving limestone over millennia, are an extraordinary natural phenomenon and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On this half-day trip from Ljubljana, you’ll be picked up from your hotel or guesthouse in the morning and driven to the caves with an English-speaking guide sharing insights about Slovenia along the way. After arriving, you’ll begin your guided tour of the caves at around 10 AM, spending about 1 hour and 45 minutes exploring their vast passages and learning about the formations. You should dress warmly as cave temperatures stay between 8–10 °C (46–50 °F). After the caves visit, the tour returns you to your original pickup point in Ljubljana.
