Enjoy a unique small-group adventure with no more than six guests per host-driver in our comfortable 4x4 vehicles. Our experienced local hosts make the journey truly unforgettable as you travel the scenic 18 km (12 miles) off-road route from Kaliviani to the Balos parking area. Instead of a long hike, we take you directly to our favorite panoramic viewpoint—perfect for capturing stunning photos of Balos from above.
Know Before You Go
- During the guided tour you will learn about life in Cretan villages, olives pick, olive oil production, Cretan wine, honey production, distillation of "raki" - "tsikoudia", and Cretan cuisine, culture, history and tradition.
- Chania-Balos Parking Lot: In order to escape the thousands of people who visit the region every day, it is imperative to arrive at the Balos parking lot as soon as possible. You will witness a lot of sheep and goats while traveling on the uneven route to Balos, giving you the opportunity to take lovely pictures and selfies! The landscape is breathtaking.
- Items to bring: Sunglasses, hat, sun cream, swimming clothes, beach towels. Sport shoes or sandals are recommended
