Worth the trip, plan your day so you can fit everything in that you want to see- Mona Lisa plan for opening if you can, as by the time we got there, there were tons of people, a huge line, and by the time we got to the front it was a free for all.
Since we are from New York City and are familiar with the local museums, this was quite remarkable to us. My main piece of advice is to have a strategy for what you want to see because you may spend an entire day here and only see 15% of it.
a huge museum that offers something for everyone. I would check the "you're here map" after what felt like miles of wandering just to discover that I had stayed in the same spot. My daughter is a great admirer of history and art, so it ended up taking us six hours to see everything even though we had intended to remain for no more than three to four hours. I had planned on taking multiple breaks, but instead I noticed several folks napping (I wish I had one too). If you go to Paris, it is a must, but be ready. I liked the direct exit to the store.
