What To Expect

Your first stop of the day is the State Agora, once the political center of the city and a magnificent square. Go to Breterion and explore the council chambers. It may also have been a place for artistic performances. Hear interesting stories about the lives of the locals as you walk through the arcades, shops and other buildings. Arrive at the Temple of Domitian and discover the somewhat unusual architectural arrangement of the U-shaped altar. Next, walk through the Kuretes district, the political and commercial center of Ephesus.

Meeting point

The upper gate (south entrance) of the archaeological site, near Porta Magnesia, is where the self-guided tour begins. Please do not wait in line and go straight to the entrance. The easiest route from Kuşadası or Seljuk to the place is by taxi.
