Full Description
Experience the highlights of southwest Iceland on an 8-hour Golden Circle tour from Reykjavik. Travel by bus to the famous Geysir geothermal area, stand before the mighty Gullfoss Waterfall, and explore the remarkable Þingvellir National Park—where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates slowly drift apart.
Begin at the Geysir hot spring field, where you can watch Strokkur erupt every few minutes, shooting boiling water up to 30 meters high.
Continue to one of Iceland’s most celebrated natural wonders, Gullfoss—the “Golden Falls.” Feel the power of the glacial Hvítá River as it plunges into a dramatic 32-meter deep canyon.
Your journey then leads to Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site recognized for both its geological and historical importance. Explore the rift valley created by shifting continental plates and see the site of the ancient Viking parliament, the Rock of Law.
Enjoy views of the volcanic crater at Lake Kerið and pass by charming southern Icelandic farms as you complete the Golden Circle route and return to Reykjavik.
(Please note: tours departing at 12:00 PM or later do not include a stop at Kerið crater.)
