Full Description

Step into history with a visit to Italica, one of Spain’s best-preserved Roman archaeological sites, and explore ancient streets, stunning mosaics, and iconic Game of Thrones filming locations.

Founded in 206 BC by General Publius Cornelius Scipio, Italica is the birthplace of emperors Trajan and Hadrian. Wander through its well-preserved streets, admire the grand amphitheater—which once seated 25,000 spectators—and explore the underground passages used by gladiators and the enclosures where lions were kept before combat. Fans of Game of Thrones will recognize the amphitheater as the Dragonpit from season seven.

The tour also includes a visit to the nearby Monastery of San Isidoro del Campo, a medieval fortress blending Mudejar, Gothic, and Baroque architecture, offering a fascinating glimpse into Spain’s rich cultural heritage.
