Originally built as a fort for the Cordoban governors in 913, the Alcázar is a remarkable blend of Moorish and Christian architecture. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987, it has been renovated and expanded over more than 11 centuries.
Learn how King Fernando III made the Alcázar his residence after capturing Seville in 1248, and discover how successive monarchs used the palace as their royal home. Fans of television will also recognize the Alcázar as a filming location for the hit series Game of Thrones.

- Reduced entry for pensioners or students from 17 to 25 years old is only available for EU citizens (upon presentation of the supporting documentation) at the ticket office of the monument

- The palace is free to enter on Mondays from October to December from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM
- Admission is free for disabled people, children under 13, and Seville residents with a valid ID
