Step into a world of blue ice and dramatic glacier landscapes on this guided small-group tour from Skaftafell. Led by certified glacier guides, you’ll travel from the meeting point at Tröll Expeditions Skaftafell to the edge of Falljökull Glacier, an outlet of Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest ice cap. After a safety briefing and equipment fitting, you’ll walk across the glacier’s surface, learning about how ice has shaped the environment and how to move safely on ice. The highlight of the experience is entering a natural blue ice cave glowing with surreal hues and unique light effects. Throughout the tour, there’s plenty of time for photos and interpretive commentary from your guide, and at the end you’ll enjoy hot drinks and a snack before returning to Skaftafell.
