Full Description
Sumo is one of Japan’s oldest traditions, deeply rooted in the nation’s history. At Asakusa Sumo Club, experience this iconic sport up close while enjoying an authentic sumo-style meal in an intimate setting centered around a real sumo ring (dohyo).
Begin with a graceful traditional Japanese dance by geisha, followed by live sumo demonstrations, including warm-up exercises, classic techniques, and an explanation of sumo etiquette. The highlight is a best-of-three match performed by retired professional sumo wrestlers.
Guests may also have the chance to step into the ring and challenge a wrestler. Challenger spots are limited and selected by lottery if demand is high.
All seats provide excellent views, with optional upgrades for a closer experience:

- VVIP: Premium central seats with the most immersive perspective
After the show, take home a souvenir gift bag and a framed photo with the sumo wrestlers and geisha.
Please note: This is an entertainment performance by retired wrestlers. For active sumo stable visits, other experiences are available in Tokyo.

- Please note that the Sumo Show is different from a serious morning practice tour. It is designed as a fun and family-friendly entertainment experience for both adults and children.
- The number of challengers for the Sumo Challenge is limited. If there are many applicants, participants will be selected by lottery.
- Souvenir contents may vary depending on the season.
- Vegetarian and vegan meals are available upon request, but must be reserved at least 2 days in advance.
- Wheelchair-accessible seating is limited, so please inform us at the time of booking if required.
- We are unable to provide gluten-free or halal meals, but guests are welcome to bring their own food to accommodate dietary needs.
- You may be seated together with other guests.
