MoMA provides a comprehensive overview of modern and contemporary art from avant-garde European painting and sculpture of the 1880s through modern film, design and performance. Monet's Water Lilies, Van Gogh's Starry Night, Picasso's Les Demoiselles d'Avignon, Matisse's Dance (I), Warhol's Campbell's Soup Cans, as well as contemporary pieces by Elizabeth Murray, Cindy Sherman, Ai Weiwei and many more. the tops of six floors of art galleries in midtown Manhattan.
Have fun exploring mobile displays. Visit the Independence Project from February 20th to July 2nd. This exhibition explores the ways in which idealistic social goals and emancipatory politics in the post-independence period found form and expression through modern architecture in the region.
Enjoy the Frédéric Bruly Bouabré exhibition, the first comprehensive tour of this Ivorian artist in the US, from March 13 to August 13. This artist used drawing as an essential tool to create a writing system.
