Dive into an unforgettable experience as you snorkel between two continents at the Silfra Fissure, located in Þingvellir National Park—one of Iceland’s treasured UNESCO World Heritage Sites. With a premium dry suit to keep you warm, you’ll explore a remarkable underwater world shaped by glaciers and shifting tectonic plates.
When you arrive, your guide will introduce you to the history and geology of Silfra before helping you gear up with all the necessary snorkeling equipment. You'll then make your way into the valley where the North American and Eurasian plates continue to separate year by year, creating one of the planet’s most unique natural wonders.
Follow your guide through the incredibly clear glacial water, naturally filtered through volcanic rock for centuries. Take in the vivid shades of blue, and keep an eye out for delicate plant life and the occasional dwarf char gliding through the fissure.

Know Before You Go
- You must be physically fit to take part
- You must be comfortable in the water and able to swim
- You must be able to communicate in English
- You must weigh between 45 kilograms (99 pounds) and 120 kilograms (264 pounds)
- You must be at least 145 centimeters and no more than 200 centimeters tall
- Be prepared to wear a sometimes tight and constricting dry suit
- You will need to get medical clearance from a doctor in order to participate if you are 60 years old or over (max age to take part in this tour is 69)
