Meet your guide at the designated point in Hoi An Ancient Town at the scheduled time. Since vehicles aren’t allowed inside the Old Town, the activity is fully on foot. Your guide will confirm your booking and provide a paper lantern before escorting you to the nearby river dock.
Board a traditional wooden boat reserved exclusively for your group (1–5 passengers). The local rower will help you light your lantern, creating a magical glow on the water.
During peak times (18:30–19:30), the dock may be busy, and you might wait 15–20 minutes before boarding. The boat ride lasts around 10–15 minutes, depending on river conditions and traffic. While cruising, enjoy the shimmering reflections of Hoi An’s illuminated lanterns. This experience focuses on the ambiance and scenery rather than guided commentary, as rowers do not speak English. Lantern release happens during the ride when conditions allow.
