The abbey’s origins date back to the early medieval period, with worship of Saint Michel beginning in 708 and Benedictine monks constructing the abbey from the 10th century. Over time, the abbey endured many challenges, including during the Hundred Years’ War, and has been restored over the centuries. Your ticket is valid for entrance during a chosen time slot, and the self-guide booklet is available in several languages to help you better understand the abbey’s significance.
