Full Description
Discover the diverse landscapes of Madeira on a full-day tour from Funchal. The tour begins from the meeting point in Funchal’s Lido area or with hotel pickup from selected locations. Your first stop is the viewpoint at Terreiro da Luta, located a few kilometers outside the city.
From there, continue toward the mountain of Pico do Arieiro. Standing at about 1,818 meters above sea level, it is the third-highest peak on the island and offers impressive panoramic views. After visiting this high mountain viewpoint, descend through forested areas toward the coast.
Along the way, pass picturesque villages and admire some of Madeira’s well-known straw-roof houses. The tour also reaches the easternmost part of the island, where you can enjoy sweeping views of both the north and south coasts.
Stop at Ribeiro Frio, a well-known starting point for levada walking trails located on the island’s northern slopes. Here you can see trout pools and unique vegetation from the ancient laurissilva forest that once covered Madeira. Later, enjoy a lunch stop in Santana, famous for its small triangular houses with thatched roofs.
