Full Description
Start your hike from Tacande, also known as Burnt Mountain, the first recorded historical volcano that formed in 1480. Climb the recently formed Cumbre Vieja volcano and enjoy the breathtaking scenery that was created in just 85 days. Climb to the top of the volcano and take a leisurely 4.5km walk around the back to witness the power of the eruption. You do not enter the crater. Learn how a lava flow created a new peninsula and destroyed over 3,000 buildings and forests. Observe areas where molten rock has carved out a new volcanic landscape on its own.
